News:Living Labs mediaMail & Film

From AMI@Work Communities Wiki

12th March 2007 COMIST has been very involved in the supporting the birth and development of the concept of Living Labs, and has encouraged many organisations in the NMAS to establish Living Labs, where they can build and nurture "bottom up" innovation services.

COMIST has sponsored both one mediaMail and one film about the idea of Living Labs. The mediaMail is a short explanation of the importance of Living Labs to Europe's crucial innovation platform, introduced by the Finnish Prime Minister. The film, also on the theme of Living Labs tells the story of two northern European Living Labs currently in operation. These are the Helsinki Virtual Village at Arabianranta, and the Living Lab based at LuleƄ University of Technology in Northern Sweden. The film contains some concrete examples of how end-users and consumers are being involved in experimentally trying out innovation, to help develop services and products they actually have a need for.

Both media was sent out to several hundred people around Europe in February. But if you want to access them now you can follow these links. Enjoy!

You can access either the mediaMail and the film. If you would like DVD copies of these films please contact Paul Ormerod at eUconnect Ltd, the producer of the films and a partner in COMIST, at pfo@harston.demon.co.uk
