[edit] Services for Living Labs
CO-LLABS/DEN4DEK/LABORANOVA one-day Workshop at ICE 2009, 24 June 2009
Organized by Jens Schumacher and Karin Feurstein (FHV) Contact: karin.feurstein@fhv.at
Workshop Objectives
This workshop aims to bring together researchers, innovation experts and Living Lab initiatives to discuss on current developments in the field of Living Labs. The Living Lab movement is steadily growing and expanding. There is now a broad base of experiences and of knowledge about the individual implementations and capabilities of the Living Labs all over Europe. However, a current overview over tools and methods used to implement and maintain in their particular setting is so far missing, while at the same time more and more tools and methods are getting available due to regional, national and European developments.
Workshop structure
This workshop is concerned with 2 major questions in the field of innovations in Living Labs:
1. What kind of services are currently available to support the innovation capabilities of Living Labs
2. How has an architectural approach to look like in order to ensure the integration of upcoming services in a common Service suite for Living Labs?
The first session will give an overview over the current good practices findings in the European Network of Living Labs. These encouraging results show an increasing number of Living Labs with different settings and requirements. Based on these findings the session will investigate the environment in which services for innovation can be deployed. Here, the architecture plays a major role in the meaning of how to deploy a platform for the various services available and how to link the different services to the different innovation stages of the innovation process. Some first ideas will be shown how this serious challenge can be addressed and handled. Next, the session will move on with concrete methods and services that have been deployed at various sites to improve the innovation process taking into account the various particularities of the individual Living Labs. The session will present different available and upcoming services for the different innovation phases in Living Labs and will give an insight about their capabilities.
