How to reach Fraunhofer FIT

Fraunhofer FIT headquarters are part of the Fraunhofer Institute Center Birlinghoven Castle located between Bonn and Sankt Augustin. Bus stop and parking facilities right at the entrance.

From Bonn Hbf (main station)

• Bus 634, destination 'Hoholz', leaves from Bus Platform B3 every 20 minutes during weekday peak hours. "Schloss Birlinghoven" is the final stop.
• Taxi to Birlinghoven Castle ("Schloss Birlinghoven"): the ride takes about 15 minutes and costs some 15 Euro.

From Siegburg/Bonn train station (on the ICE line Cologne – Frankfurt)

• Taxi to Birlinghoven Castle ("Schloss Birlinghoven": the ride takes about 15 minutes and costs some 15 Euro.

From Cologne airport

• Taxi to Birlinghoven Castle ("Schloss Birlinghoven"): the ride takes about 25 minutes and costs about 30 Euro. It may sometimes be helpful to show the driver the directions (in German) for going to Birlinghoven Castle by car.
• Bus 670, destination Bonn Hbf, leaves every 20 minutes and takes 35 minutes to Bonn Hbf.

From Düsseldorf airport or Frankfurt airport

• IC or ICE trains to Bonn Hbf or to Siegburg/Bonn.

To get to the Fraunhofer Institute Center Birlinghoven Castle

from the West, e. g., from Bonn via Kennedy Bridge,

• take Bundesstrasse B 56 eastbound to Sankt Augustin-Hangelar. Follow the road signs to 'Schloss Birlinghoven' and 'Bonn-Hoholz', turning right into Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse. Take Konrad-Adenauer- Strasse for about 2 kilometers to the entrance of the Fraunhofer Institute Center Birlinghoven Castle (left-hand side on the hilltop).

from the North, e. g., from Cologne airport,

• follow Autobahn A 59 southbound (direction Bad Honnef). Take the 'Beuel / Hangelar' exit and turn right into Bundesstrasse B 56, direction Sankt Augustin and Siegburg. Continue as indicated above.

from the South,

• go north on Autobahn A 3. At the 'Bonn / Siegburg' intersection, change to Autobahn A 560, direction Bonn / Sankt Augustin. Take the 'Siegburg / Mülldorf' exit and turn left into Bundesstrasse B 56 westbound (direction Mülldorf / Bonn). In Sankt Augustin-Hangelar, follow the road signs to 'Schloss Birlinghoven' and 'Bonn-Hoholz', turning left into Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse. Continue as indicated above.
