ADAM TUROWIEC obtained his M.Sc. (in communications systems and multimedia) from the University of Technology and Natural Sciences in Bydgoszcz (UTP), Poland. His recent professional career has been closely related to Information Society Technologies. Since 1998 he has worked with ITTI in Poznan, Poland, initially – as a consultant and project manager, currently as a business development director and partner. In 2000 he additionally began his work as an academic teacher at UTP, where he specialised in wireless communications and worked on his PhD. In 2003 he moved to Adam Mickiewicz University (UAM) in Poznan, where he worked (until 2006) at the Applied Informatics Dept. He has managed a number of national and international projects related to mobile communications, m-commerce, distance learning, flexible working, and state-of-the-art IT industry tendencies, technology transfer and dissemination of knowledge on innovative technologies and tools to the Polish industry. He has led projects in 5FP, 6FP, Leonardo da Vinci, EQUAL. Since 2004 he has been a vice-chair of the AMI@Work Community and of the rural@work Community. He is also a vice-president of the Polish Association for Regional Development and Entrepreneurship.
